- $3,700,000 — $3,700,000 For a 25 year old worker who fell into a sewer hole on a construction site and suffered injuries to his back. The defendants claimed he was the sole proximate cause of his injury because he removed what was covering the hole. Defendants also claimed that the back injury was resolved and that plaintiff can return to work. The case was settled during a second mediation four days before trial, and after we won summary judgment on the issue of liability and while defendants’ appeals were pending.
